Three New HTML5 Titles Hitting Microgaming Shelves

April 15, 2014

The hottest sector of the online gambling world is mobile, and that's especially true when you look at new video slot releases. Everything is becoming more and more geared towards mobile with better phones and faster connections coming out each year, so it's no surprise that mobile slots are absolutely booming. With this big push in the mobile sector, there's a virtual fight breaking out between Macromedia Flash and HTML5. While HTML5 has the long-term benefits, using Flash has a lot of short-term advantages, and that keeps a lot of software companies from making the switch.

Microgaming takes the switch to HTML5 very seriously, and they are showing it once again with three new HTML5 releases for the month of April. The first new title is Hitman, an awesome video slot that uses a 15 payline format. Follow this assassin as he tries to take out some free spin targets and the Contact Bonus which gets you awesome prizes. You can also try out Eagle's Wings, a 25 payline game that has an animal theme. The Lucky Eagle bonus round is a pretty big deal because you can get up to 60 free spins with multipliers worth up to 3x. Finally, you can try the wealth-based slot High Society. This game has 25 paylines as well, but it has some major features to give you huge multipliers as high as 10x and more.

Microgaming Product Channels Head Neill Whyte said, “April is an exciting month; our cross-platform game release, High Society, delivers the exact same experience to players no matter the device they are playing on and no matter the product channel. We are also proud to add Hitman to our mobile portfolio – it's a player favorite!”

This strategy of introducing popular titles, both new and existing, to the HTML5 platform is a part of Microgaming's overall strategy to focus on the future when it comes to mobile gaming. They are playing the long-ball game here and banking on the fact that the competition will not be as ready for the new mobile players months and years down the road. While everyone else focuses primarily on adding new titles to Flash-based platforms, Microgaming is betting that HTML5 is going to be the next big thing. While it's true that Flash probably isn't going away anytime soon, the advantages of HTML5 are going to become more and more evident over time.
